ASUS ROG Ally X

About the ASUS ROG Ally X

The ASUS ROG Ally X falls into the Gaming Handhelds category as a portable Windows PC that can run the same library of titles you’d play on a desktop. Its integrated controls let you pick up and play without external accessories. Because it runs a full PC operating system, you can install launchers, tweak settings, and connect to external displays or peripherals when you need more screen real-estate or a keyboard. It balances portability with the flexibility of a traditional gaming PC.

Design

The ROG Ally X has a compact form factor that houses a 7-inch display and a set of buttons mirroring a standard gamepad. The chassis is molded for two-hand use, with textured grips on the sides and a central kickstand for tabletop play.

Where it fits

• Play PC games while traveling using the built-in controller
• Stream to a TV or monitor for couch gaming
• Run Windows launchers and mods for a customized library
• Pair with Bluetooth headphones for private sessions

Before you buy

Confirm the model includes the latest Ryzen processor and check the storage capacity and RAM configuration listed. Verify that the device runs Windows and supports the games you plan to play.

If you primarily play console exclusives or need a long battery life for all-day sessions, a dedicated console handheld may suit you better.

Who it is for

The ASUS ROG Ally X is ideal for players who want a portable Windows PC that can run the same library of titles as a desktop. It is suited for gamers who need a built-in controller and the ability to connect to external displays or keyboards. It works best for those who are comfortable installing launchers and tweaking settings on a handheld.
