About the Mackie CR3.5BT + CR8SBT
The Mackie CR3.5BT + CR8SBT belongs to the Speakers & Soundbars category and provides a 2.1 configuration that pairs two 3.5-inch studio monitors with an 8-inch powered subwoofer. Bluetooth 5.0 lets you stream game audio or music wirelessly from a PC or mobile device, while the analog inputs keep a direct connection option for low-latency gameplay. This system is designed for desk-side use, so it fits comfortably on most gaming setups without requiring a large cabinet. Its balanced drivers deliver clear mids and punchy lows, making explosions and ambient tracks more immersive without overwhelming the room.
Design
The monitors feature a compact rectangular shape with a matte black finish and a front-facing control panel. The subwoofer is a larger, rectangular unit that matches the monitors’ styling and sits on the floor or desk edge. All components are built with sturdy enclosures and include built-in amplification, so no external amp is needed.
Where it fits
- Ideal for small-room gaming rigs where space is limited
- Works well for games with strong soundtrack cues, such as horror or RPG titles
- Suitable for casual multiplayer sessions where clear dialogue is important
- Can double as a Bluetooth speaker for music while not gaming
Before you buy
Confirm the Bluetooth version listed is 5.0 and verify the subwoofer dimensions fit your desk or floor space.
If you need true surround sound or higher SPL for a large room, look for a multi-speaker system instead.
Who it is for
Ideal for PC gamers with limited desk space who need clear dialogue and immersive bass without a large cabinet. The 2.1 layout fits small rooms and supports both wired and Bluetooth audio for quick switching between games and music.
Setup tips
- Place the 3.5-inch monitors at ear level and angled toward you for balanced sound.
- Position the 8-inch subwoofer on the floor or desk edge, angled 45 degrees to avoid standing waves.
- Use the analog inputs for low-latency gaming and pair the Bluetooth 5.0 connection for wireless use.
- Keep speaker cables organized to prevent tripping and maintain a clean desk.
